HOW TO IMPROVE MATHEMATICS SKILLS
Whenever students hear about mathematics, there is a sort of math phobia. But I find it an interesting subject. Mathematics is the king of all subjects. Without mathematics calculations, we can't do numerical problems. Mathematics is a study of numbers, geometry, algebra, analysis. Without math’s knowledge, it is not possible to get success in any field. In our daily routine, we use math calculations in the market.
Since childhood, I was mediocre in mathematics. My aunt taught me in 9th class and improved my skills also. After that, my interest increasing goes on day by day. I got 100 marks in 10th class. That were the skills which helped me to get full marks. It was a big achievement for me. Then I decided to start my career in this field. But I don’t feel good or bad in mathematics. I do struggle hard and hard in some areas. I feel that mathematics is an interesting thing to learn.
Mastering in mathematics is essential for future opportunities.
There are following ways to improve mathematics skills:
· First way is to clear your basics
. Always do your homework
. Try to understand each step
. Practices, practice, and practice
.Think, Create, and solve
. Self-study
. Challenge yourself
. Always be confident in what you are doing
. Group study
Besides to this, there should be a correlation between a teacher and students. The teacher should provide help whenever students need it. The teacher should provide co-curricular activities for judging their skills. The teacher should give assignments. The teacher should give motivation to students. The students should ask to solve calculations. This will make them attentive in the class and they listen to their teacher. The teacher should make the students familiar with practical values of mathematics.
Thus, practice is the main tool for improving the skills. In this way, we can improve mathematics skills and achieve our goal in this field.

Number System
Number System
· Whole Numbers: If we include zero to natural numbers then they are said to be Whole numbers. For example: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4……..
· Integers: The numbers which include zero, natural numbers and negative numbers are called integers. For example …..-5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5……
· Rational numbers: Numbers which can be expressed in the form p/q where p and q are integers and q≠0. For example 3/5, 4/5, 2/7…..
· Irrational numbers: A number is an irrational number if it has non-terminating non-repeating decimal representation. For example √2, √3, √5….
· Real numbers: The set of all rational numbers and irrational numbers is called real numbers.

Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is necessary for success
There is one thing in all of our mind that to get success we
should be intelligent. But there is a factor which helps us in getting success
and that is emotional intelligence. In our society we think that intelligence
is to do with thinking, analyzing, remembering, comparing, applying, doing
examinations and getting high marks. We think that these are the qualities that
bring good jobs, good income and good schools for the children. But research is
nor confirming that this is not true. Schools develop only thinking skills as
their feelings and emotions are mainly ignored.
Intelligence is the
ability to grab, understand and use knowledge. Intelligent quotient or IQ tests
compare performance with same age group who take the same test. But it does not
measure all kind of intelligence like social intelligence.
Emotional intelligence is the single factor to predict the
success and other important factors like technical skills, physical fitness,
specific knowledge and mental abilities. EQ (emotional quotient) is the most
important factor of professional and personal success in life. It is recognized
that only 20% success of a person depends on IQ and remaining 80% depends on
EQ. Emotional intelligence is more or less related to social intelligence. It includes
interpersonal intelligence (appreciation, understand other people, what
motivates them, handling relationships) and intrapersonal intelligence
(self-awareness).
According to Daniel Goleman: Emotional intelligence is the ability to know, manage one’s emotions and recognize them in others and to handle one’s relationships.
Emotional intelligence refers to the emotional needs, drives
and true values of the person. EQ tells what the persons do and will do. It
determines one’s success in relating to people and success in any given job.
There are five domains of emotional intelligence:
- Self-awareness: to observe oneself and observe their impact on others.
- Managing emotions: handling feelings, realizing what behind a feeling, finding ways to handle all type of fears, anger, and sadness.
- Motivation oneself: analyze emotional energy in the service of a goal, openness to new ideas, ability to find solutions, sound decision and sense of responsibility.
- Empathy: understand other’s feeling and appreciating the differences in how people feel about things.
- Handling relationships: managing emotions in others: social capability and social skills.
Thus a person is emotionally intelligent if he is able to:
- Identify and realize emotions in others
- Feel his own feelings and emotions
- Using his emotions, problem- solving, decision making etc
- Have proper understanding of nature and outcomes of his emotions
- Proper control and regulation over the expressions. Use of emotion with self and others.
